While staying with us, be sure to explore the dramatic coastline. This northern part of the California coast offers a remote getaway complete with sandy beaches and gigantic monoliths.

Mendocino, a historic Cape Cod-style enclave, doubles as the New England town of 'Cabot Cove' in the television show Murder, She Wrote. The entire village of Mendocino, established by New England whalers, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Fine shops, galleries, and snug inns abound in this renowned artists' colony.

At Noyo Harbor, charter a sport-fishing boat or catch a whale-watching cruise. From either Fort Bragg or Mendocino, stroll the headlands looking for seals. And, November to April, look for migrating California gray whales.

In Willits, visit the Mendocino County Museum to see Native American basketry and vintage steam-powered logging and railroad equipment. South is Ukiah, a major new wine-producing region.

Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens

2005 Art in the Gardens Poster by Hilary Eddy

A rare jewel: the only public garden in the continental United States fronting directly on the ocean, Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens offers everything from colorful displays to thunderous waves. The mild maritime climate makes it a garden for all seasons, attracting gardeners and nature lovers alike. Manicured formal gardens, a dense coastal pine forest, fern-covered canyons, diverse plant collections, and flower-filled coastal bluffs overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean are among the many attractions. Whale watchers can take shelter in the Cliff House to view winter and spring migrations, bird lovers will delight in the over 100 species of birds that live in or visit the Gardens annually. All this and more await you at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens.

Glass Beach

Glass Beach is one of the most unique beaches in the world, not because nature created it that way, but because time and the pounding surf have corrected one of man's mistakes.

Ricochet Ridge Ranch

Trail Rides along Ten Mile Beach, across cattle ranches, through majestic Redwood forests...

Skunk Train Fort Bragg Depot

The Skunk line runs 40 miles between Fort Bragg on the coast and Willits on US Highway 101. Combine any numbers of trains and schedules to make a memorable visit to the Redwoods. You will cross as many as 30 bridges and trestles along the scenic redwood route (almost one bridge for each mile of track!), as well as pass through one of the lines two deep mountain tunnels!

Noyo Harbor

One of the west coast's most scenic harbors, Noyo Harbor is tucked into the forested hills at the south end of Fort Bragg. You may remember seeing Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell sailing out of the harbor at the end of the movie Overboard. Noyo Harbor is your starting point for a day out on the ocean, whether it's on a fishing or whale watching charter, or paddling your own kayak.

All Aboard Adventures with Captain Tim is conveniently located in the Beautiful Noyo Harbor in Fort Bragg. We pride ourselves in our excellent customer service. Whether you are deep sea fishing, whale watching, or taking a cruise in the Harbor, we will do all that we can to insure that you have a fun adventure on our charter boat, THE SEA HAWK!
